DataParser supports sending files to SharePoint

April 17, 2025

SharePoint DataParser

DataParser has a new output option to send files into a SharePoint library.  Similar to how the Azure Blob output feature works – size limitations can be set to match the archive limit so that any file larger can be stripped from the message/chat/meeting and replaced with a working link to the file in a SharePoint library.  Compliance officers can simply click the link if they need to access the file as part of their eDiscovery review process.

This new feature is part of our ongoing efforts to handle larger files, attachments and data types for archiving.  Collecting chat and meeting data from Teams, Slack, Zoom, Webex and other collaboration platforms is necessary for compliance, legal, HR and corporate policies.  When an archive encounters a file that is too large to ingest, admins will typically have to manually download and manage the file’s storage which can interrupt processing and require resources.  Instead, DataParser can automatically collect the file, send it to SharePoint and replace it with a working link in the message.  DataParser also tags the messages with the location of the files.

Below is a screenshot of a Webex channel chat output message with 2 image files that have been removed from the message and replaced with working SharePoint links.

The ability to continuously run ingestion processes without interruption is key to our enterprise clients that are collecting millions of messages a day.  Files sent into SharePoint can have retention policies applied and be reviewed along with the chat and meeting data.
