e-Dis.co has updated the EMRM Table with release v2.0 to include Social Media. The EMRM is used as the industry standard for tagging content to enable e-discovery.
May 30, 2013 Millbrook, NY – In conjunction with leading e-discovery partners and corporate clients, 17a-4’s e-Dis.co division has released an enhanced version of the Electronic Messaging Reference Modal (EMRM) table.
As e-messaging and social media proliferate, it becomes more challenging for compliance and legal professionals to support e-discovery requests. “We have assisted with many SEC and FINRA productions which typically provide 2-3 days to produce records. In order to meet this production demand, content has to be indexed and archived, so that the client only needs to search, cull and export.” says William Weeden, Director of e-Dis.co. Several years ago, e-Dis.co developed the tag convention for different messaging types and compiled it into the Electronic Message Reference Model (“EMRM”). Standardizing tags can be a key tool to reduce the size of productions and ensure relevant content; included are the Source, Type, Subject and Metadata fields. This recent release brings entries for LinkedIn®, Facebook ®, Twitter®, NewsGator®, Microsoft’s SharePoint® and other communication sources.
